Humane Society Yukon Wish List
Equipment / Supplies
- Durable dog toys - puppy teeth are hard on toys!
- Rubber dog toys (washable and great for chewing)
- Cats - the feline residents need some fun too!
- Scratching posts.
- Canned kitten food.
- Any adult dog food
- Technical Puppy Food – available at The Feed Store.
- Canned dog/puppy food of any brand is also needed.
- Puppy Training Pads
- Cat litter: we use Enviro from The Feed Store, but other types are welcome.
- Gift Certificates. Gift Certificates at a veterinary clinic or a pet supply store, are always a sure thing!
- Leashes - longer is better as it lets the dogs stretch their legs more (nylon preferred)
- Nylon collars - large size
- Extendable leashes for large dogs
- Large dog crates
- Blankets! No one likes to lie on hard concrete, but blankets tend to become soiled quickly and multiple washings ultimately result in torn and tattered bedding. Dogs will systematically remove (and possibly ingest) the stuffing from quilts, so ‘stuffing free’ blankets are best.
- Towels - We need towels for the dog wash.
Cleaning Supplies:
- Bleach
- Heavy Duty Garbage Bags
- New brooms
- Vileda Mop Heads- Synthetic - not cotton
- Used plastic grocery bags are welcome; they save us buying kitchen bags to line kennelclean up pails.
Office Supplies:
- Plain White Copier paper
- Postage Stamps – Canadian
- AA size Batteries
- Scotch Tape
- Buckets - Five gallon plastic buckets are needed for cleaning the yards.
Medical Supplies:
- Strongid de-wormer - Available at Vets & C & D Feeds
- Drontal Cat de-wormer
- Drontal Small dog & Large dog de-wormer
- Other veterinary meds, prescription and OTC – partially used are fine. Latex or Vinyl Gloves
- Cotton Balls/Pads, gauze
- Q tips
- Ear cleaner
- Elizabethan Collars, all sizes used are fine
There are also many other ways you can help during the year...just stop by the shelter and talk to the friendly staff. They can tell you how you can help.
All donations can be dropped off at the shelter, and we will be adding to this list in the days to come, so please check back often.
Thank you for your continued support.
