Fostering an Animal

We are often in need of fosters for our animals. Fostering creates space at the shelter for us to take in animals that are waiting to come into our care.

When an animal has been posted for adoption and has not received interest for some time, the kennel manager may decide to place them into foster care. We cover all food and medical expenses for the fostered animal. Foster caregivers are responsible for meeting potential adopters, either at the shelter or at a predetermined place.  Fosters always have first choice if they decide they would like to adopt the animal themselves.

For questions or to express interest, you can email kennel.operations@humanesocietyyukon.ca
