ACTIVITIES:
WITH THE ANIMALS
Show the animals in care some love. Activities include dog walks, kitty cuddling, adopt-a-dog-for-a-day, and puppy play & clean-up.
-
The dogs: Volunteers are welcome to drop in Tuesday - Saturday between noon and 4 pm. Dog walking is our most needed volunteer activity. Volunteers can also play in the big yard with a dog. For our Adopt a Dog for a Day Program, please book ahead with the volunteer coordinator. This program is on Sundays and Mondays.
-
The cats: There are drop-in hours between noon - 4 pm Tuesday - Saturday. Get their purr motors running while they soak up the pets and you enjoy some endorphin-producing relaxation.
-
The puppy litters: There are drop-in hours between noon - 4 pm Tuesday - Saturday. Poop patrol and puppy play. From time to time, we have puppy litters in the shelter that need playtime, people socialization, and lots of clean-up.
IN THE KENNEL
A positive experience for our animals means a clean and well-maintained kennel. Weekly Activities include laundry, light cleaning, sorting donations, taking inventories, and washing toys and dishes. As-needed/ Seasonal Activities include small repairs, spring cleaning, snow shoveling, and special projects.
SUPPORT OUR WORK
Fundraising
Fundraising is crucial to our ability to run the shelter and care for the animals. Activities include ticket sales, online auction prep, event set-up, barbeques, and collecting donations
Office/Admin
Administrative tasks help keep things running smoothly. Activities include data entry, computer, and IT tasks, tallying till tapes, organizing the office, website, and communications.
LEAD THE CHARGE
We always look for committed people as Coordinators to help plan and organize events and volunteers; and as Members of the Volunteer Committee and Board of Directors.
