Alexandrite

Description

Meet Alexandrite!

This 6-month-old Border Collie x Pitty mix is Malachite’s sister, and she’s ready to find her forever home!  Alexandrite was recently spayed and will need kennel rest for the next 10 days while she heals, but she’s already looking forward to meeting her new family.

Unlike her sister, Alexandrite is the more outgoing one of the duo! She’s friendly, playful, and always up for an adventure. She’s medium-sized and won’t grow much bigger, making her the perfect fit for many families.

Alexandrite has lived with other dogs before, but proper introductions to any current pets are always recommended. Her compatibility with cats is unknown, but she’s young enough to learn. She’d do well in a home with older children who can match her fun-loving energy and help her settle in.

Leelou

Description

Leelou is 16 years young and full of personality.

Despite being deaf, she’s a chatty girl who loves to share her thoughts with everyone around her. This sweet senior recently returned to the shelter after spending some time in foster care, and now she’s ready to find her forever home just in time for the holidays.

Leelou does have hyperthyroidism, so she’ll need daily medication to keep her feeling her best. She would thrive in a home with older children who can appreciate her independent nature. As the queen she is, Leelou prefers a home without dogs or other cats.

If you’re looking to make a senior kitty’s holiday season extra special, Leelou is ready to be your loyal companion. Come meet her at the shelter!

Bridget

Description

This is Miss Bridget! She is a Husky mix.

The cost to adopt her is $150. She is still young, about a 1 year old.

I’m a silly, goofy girl. I’ve got a sweet, puppylike face and I love to stare at you when I think you have snacks for me. I like to excitedly hop instead of run, it’s one of my many quirks! At the shelter, I have been a little defensive of my food around other dogs and can get frustrated when they have food I don’t have. My future family will need to monitor this and work with me. If there are other animals, I should be fed away from them until I have worked through this. Despite that though, I’m a bundle of joy with the people working here.

I’m slowly but surely gaining confidence and showing them how silly I can be! I have been diagnosed with elbow dysplasia, it causes me to hop when I walk and run. My future home will need to monitor it as I get older to make sure I am not too bothered by it. Right now, it isn't impeding my day to day life. I will have to be on pain medications for the rest of my life.

Cats: No

Dogs: Selective

Kids: Over 12

When adopting, the fee you pay gets you an animal that is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and spayed or neutered. If they are not of age to have been spayed or neutered, a purchase order is sent to the vet that covers a portion of their surgery. If you’re interested in adopting this animal please stop by or call the shelter at (867) 633-6019. At that point, we can fill out our questionnaire and we can talk about adoption!
