The lovely Gypsy is still looking for a home, whether adoptive or foster.

Gypsy is a large dog, she retired from sled dog work in Dawson after suffering injury. She has been diagnosed with bilateral cruciate ligament tears. She is maintained on daily metacam and limited exercise. Gypsy would do best in a single dog home, or perhaps with a male dog.

She is not reactive and is fine on walks with other dogs, as well as interacting with most dogs. She just does not love living with other female dogs. She was in a foster with a cat and had no issues with the cat. She has excellent manners on leash and has been to a few of our BBQ's and other events as she's so pleasant.

She has good manners in a house and loves to snuggle. She is also very happy to be outside. She has been very quiet at the shelter. She is a truly amazing dog that deserves a long term home. Meet Maya!!!

Maya is a aprox 5yr old spayed Great Pyrenees x. Maya is a good girl and would suit most homes that have a understanding of Livestock Guardian breeds. Maya is gentle and good with all people, she has shown no reactivity to dogs here and has shown no reaction to our shelter cat. She did come from bylaw in one of the communities so we don't know alot about her history. Maya does need some intensive grooming and will require grooming throughout her life.

We will be working on grooming her here as time allows, but we would love to see her get into a home ASAP. If you think Maya would suit your home, please come and meet her. Her adoption fee is 400$

Chica

Description

Meet Chica!!!

Chica is a 4yr old spayed shepherd cross. She is around 50lbs. Chica has just gone through a front limb amputation. Her sutures have been removed and she is making a great recovery. She does have one med she will need to be on for a little while and should be followed up by a vet to reassess the long term need for this.

Chica should be in a home that can manage a front limb tripawd as they do have added wear and tear on their bodies. Diet and supplements are important to allow her to have a healthy life. Chica would currently do best in a home with no cats or other dogs.

She does not love having young children around at the moment and we recommend a home with teens and up. Chica is figuring out her new normal and it does make her feel vulnerable around too much action and noise. She is incredibly sweet and loves people. Chica is ready to find the perfect home. Her adoption fee is 400$

Kuma

Description

Meet Kuma!!

Kuma is a aprox 3yr old female shepherd cross. She came to us from Bylaw in one of the communities so we don't know much about her. We do know that she has had 2 litters of pups in the past. Kuma did have a wound on her neck when she came to us, it has been cleaned and she has been treated with antibiotics. Kuma can be a bit shy at first but she warms up very quickly and is then very outgoing.

She has not shown much reactivity so may be ok with other dogs with proper introductions. We do not know how she would be with cats or children. She has just been spayed and is ready to find her new home. Her adoption fee is 400$

Littlest

Description

Meet Littlest!!! Littlest is a 2yr old Marrema spayed female. Littlest has been diagnosed with ‘dilated cardiomyopathy’. This is a serious heart condition that will shorten her lifespan and will need continued vet care in terms of monitoring and medication. She is on daily meds and she will need to stay on these meds for life. Littlest is very typical of her breed, she can be shy and standoffish when she meets you, but she has developed strong bonds with staff here. She prefers the outdoors and a home with breed experience is necessary for her. She likes kids, would be ok with most other dogs, we don’t know how she would be with cats, however she has never reacted to our shelter cat. Please only reach out if you have breed experience and are aware of her medical needs and prepared to support them. Her adoption fee has been reduced to 200$ to reflect her the ongoing expense her new owners will need to take on.

Description

In foster - Meet Pudding! Pudding is a 4.5yr old spayed female shepherd cross. She is a very affectionate girl and would love a single dog home as she can be reactive with other dogs. She has shown however that in the right home she can get along with some dogs as well. We do not know how she would be with cats. She is fine with kids. Her adoption fee is 400$

Description

Myah is a 6yr old spayed female malamute.

She is Imala’s daughter. Myah is a bit nervous and timid and would do well with a family that can take things slow with her and go a her pace. Like Imala.. Myah will need to be in a home with a secure fenced yard or kennel and will need to be kept on leash as she will run if she gets away. She also had some harness training in the past. Probably not a good fit with cats or small animals, would be good with most other dogs with proper introductions and good with kids. Her adoption fee is 400$

Imala - IN FOSTER

Description

Meet Imala, Imala is a 7yr old female spayed malamute.

She has had some harness and sled dog training in the past. She was a strong leader. Imala is a lovely dog, she would likely be fine with other dogs with proper introductions. She will need to be kept in a safe fenced yard or kennel and on leash for the first while as she will escape and run. Probably not a good fit with cats as she does have prey drive, but would be good with kids. Her adoption fee is 400$
