WICKS PUPPIES!!!! 1 left!!!

Our lovely Wick had these 8 sweethearts on April 25th and they are now ready to find their new forever homes. They have grown up in foster, being loved and adored and socialized, and we are now adopting them directly from foster to make their transition smoother.

They are out in Tagish, but please contact Tagish lake kennels through facebook if you would like to meet one of them. You will need to do the paperwork and payment in person at the shelter. Here they are! These pups are Alaskan huskies, great with other dogs. They’re wonderful with all ages of people as they have spent their lives being handled by hundreds of tourists. They are not experienced with other pets like cats. With time and patience I’m sure they would happily cohabitate. They’re high energy and need homes that can take them for regular walks, runs and adventures. They’ve spent their lives being free range and would not do well being chained in a yard. They need space to run and be free.

Boots - named for her white paws that look like go go boots. This little girl will dance her way into your heart.

Tokala

Description

Meet Tokala, Tokala is a 6yr old Alaskan Malamute. She is a lovely girl, but she does have a few needs that require a special home. She has lived most of her life as an outside dog (in a kennel). So she is rather unsure of the world outside of her previous home. She will need a home that is committed to ongoing positive training, that will allow her to progress at her own rate. Her tendency is to lie down and freeze when she is scared or unsure, she is not super food motivated but is slowly getting more interested in treats and new people. She is vocal, and she really wants to be friends and be brave. She would likely be fine with other dogs with a proper introduction, her previous home said no cats, older kids would probably be fine. She is good with all ages, but we do feel she would be happier with a quieter home. With time, love and patience Tokala will make an excellent pet and adventure buddy. She is a bit overweight at the moment, so would benefit from daily exercise as she gets brave enough to go on longer walks. She has now been spayed and is ready to find her forever home. Her adoption fee is 400$

Waylon Wyatt - In foster call for a meet

Description

Meet Waylon Wyatt AKA double W,

Waylon is a large 1yr old GSD cross. He is absolutely stunning with his long golden coat, and he has a temperament to match. He will need some ongoing training but so far in the shelter he has shown very little reactivity towards other dogs, or our shelter cat.

He would likely be fine with kids as well. An active family committed to training and enrichment would be ideal with Waylon. His adoption fee is 400$

Meatball

Description

Meet Meatball,

Meatball is a 9 month old German Shepherd cross, he has a long coat that will need regular grooming. He is just a young guy and would be fine in a home with other dogs, cats and kids with proper introductions. He does look a little sad in the picture because I woke him up from his nap to take his picture.

He would be well suited to an active family. He has been neutered and is ready to find his forever home. His adoption fee is 500$

Jack Daniels

Description

Meet Jack Daniels!

We are reaching out to our amazing community to find the perfect foster home for Jack.. or adoption if the right home is out there. Jack is a lovely 2yr old mixed breed dog, hes on the large side and weighs around 60 lbs. We don't know much about his history as he was a bylaw dog.

Jack has been good in the shelter, but he has had a few minor incidents on walks that would need to be discussed with any potential adopters or foster homes. He's not a snuggly dog, he does not seek out human touch, he does not like eye contact. He is easily over stimulated, he is quite dog reactive, but he is able to get along and go for walks one other dog here, hes probably a no for cats, and he would not do well in a home with children.

The ideal foster home would be a experienced single person or couple, with a quiet home. Having him in a foster home and out of the shelter will give us a better idea of what he's like in the real world. Which would help us figure out what he needs in a adoptive home.

He has had a evaluation with Wise Canine and we can provide ongoing support for training as well. All supplies are provided by us for our foster families. Reach out if you think he will fit in with you at home!

Farley

Description

Meet Farley,

Farley has been in foster for a week now and we have a lot more information about what the ideal home would look like for him. Farley is happy to go inside and outside in his foster home, he loves to be near his foster mom, but having the choice to be inside or outside is important to him.

With his foster and the other dogs in the home he is happy to go in a vehicle and he loves going to the lake. He has gotten along well with the female dogs in the house, however he has been more dominant with the male and would be best suited to home with a female dog as opposed to a male.

He is in a home with a cat, but has shown strong prey drive towards the cat, so he needs to be in a home without cats. We do know that he has lived with children in the past, however he can be particular about handling and can get growly and snappy, so a home with no young children is needed. The ideal home for Farley would be an adult home, with another female dog and the space to be inside or outside as he pleases in a safe fenced yard; he has jumped the fence at his fosters so a tall fence would be ideal.

Farley loves going on walks and he is a gentleman on leash, he does not pull, he just happily ambles along. If you are interested in meeting Farley please reach out and we can set up a time with his foster. We really need to find him a permanent home, his foster family is going out of town August 25th and we would hate for him to come back here as he did not do well in a shelter enviroment.

Farley’s adoption fee is 400$

Charlie

Description

Meet Charlie, Charlie will be going into his 7th month at the shelter. Charlie is a 6yr old male husky cross. He is a lovely, happy affectionate boy, but he does have some specific needs when it comes to finding him his perfect home. Charlie is dog reactive, and while we know he can live with other dogs, it would likely have to be a very particular dog with a long introduction, for this reason we feel he should be in a only dog home. His reactivity has calmed down somewhat since Missy has been adopted, but its still there. He is good to walk, and enjoys long hikes and runs, but I would say he may always need to on leash or a longline. He can be reactive to dogs passing him on the trail but he is controllable and easily redirected. We know he lived with a cat in a past life, so he may be fine with them again with proper introduction. Charlie needs to be in a home without kids. He has some body guarding habits around his feed being handled and he snapped at a child who accidently stepped on his foot. With people that he knows and trusts he is fine for having his feet lifted in and out of a harness and will offer shake a paw. But we think a quiet home where is the single dog would be best. We would also be happy to find a foster home for Charlie as well. Seven months in the shelter is too long. Lets get this boy a home.
