Tiger

Description

Meet Tiger!

Tiger is a special needs cat.

He is around 1.5yrs old. Tiger has had a vet check and it appears that he has a twisted spine, his previous owners say he was born this way and has always been this way. Tiger does not have use of his back legs, however he is not in pain and he is very good natured and happy. He has figured out how to get around and enjoys roaming the cat room and climbing low cat trees to look out the window. Tiger does have some problems with his bodily functions and will lose control of them if he is excited, and other times. He does know what a litter box is and may be able to use a low one that he can get in and out of. Tiger can use a diaper, which helps. He does need to be cleaned up more regularly. We were told that Tiger was not fixed, however he does not have testicles that can be felt so we will not be putting him through surgery.

We are hoping that a home is out there for him as he is happy and loving and he does have quality of life. We cannot predict what his future holds, but we feel he deserves a life if the right home is out there. A quiet home would probably be best for him, without dogs he does get along with other cats. His adoption fee is 200$

Aklavik

Description

Meet Aklavik!!! Aklavik is a approx 7 month old male shepherd/husky cross. He came to us through bylaw from one of the communities so we son't know much about his history. He is a very sweet dog, has shown no dog reactivity at the shelter in his kennel or on leash. Aklavik can be a bit timid at first and take some time to get used to new things, he is only learning to walk on leash, but is doing well. He would suit most homes, but would thrive in a active home with continued training. He has been neutered and his adoption fee is 500$

Dodo

Description

Meet Dodo! Dodo is a aprox 2yr old neutered male dog. He is a mixed breed, on the larger side of medium. He is around 45lbs. Dodo's breed is a mystery, but he looks like he could have a touch of Karelian Bear dog in him. He was abandoned with his 2 possibly brothers so we know very little about him or his history. Dodo can be a bit shy to start but is sweet and affectionate quickly. He would likely be fine with other dogs with proper introductions, he may be ok with cats as he has not shown a lot of reaction to the few he has seen, but we really do not know. He would probably be fine with kids, he has been around a few and has been fine. He would suit most homes, an active family would be ideal. He has been neutered and is ready for his new home. His adoption fee is 400$

Banjo - IN FOSTER

Description

Meet Banjo!! Banjo is a neutered 2.5yr old pitbull/husky cross. He was surrendered due to severe allergies and was loved. His previous owners had this to say about him. "Banjo is a 2.5-year-old Husky/Pit mix who’s equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle companion. He loves being outside, exploring, and going for walks—but once he’s burned off some energy, he’s more than happy to settle in and relax with his people. He’s smart (honestly, a little too smart sometimes 😄), knows his basics like sit, come, lay down and wait, he understands heel once he settles into the walk. Banjo bonds closely with his person(s) and requires some structure and routine. In a home, he settles in well and becomes a loyal, affectionate dog. He was deeply loved. He was surrendered due to family allergies—not because of behavior" Banjo would be suitable in many homes. His adoption fee is 400$

Shane

Description

FOSTER FEATURE - SHANE

Shane is the last of our 6 husky pups. He is a pretty timid guy that will need a really special home. He needs time and patience and would do best in a home with a confident dog to help him learn.

Shane will be in foster until Saturday and then he will need to return to the shelter. If you are interested in him please reach out.

Here is what his foster says about him.

"Shane is a goofy, adorable young pup who is slowly discovering the joys of puppyhood. He came to us extremely timid, and would freeze and shake in fear. We had to carry him in and out of the house and keep him tied up so we could get to him. Over the past two and half weeks he's made pretty big strides. He's comfortable on one level of the house and in our backyard, and he comes in and out on his own. He sleeps through most of the night and knows to do his business outside, with the occasional accident. He loves playing with our dogs and loves toys of all kinds! He throws them around and pounces on them. He's also good with our two cats. He tries to play with one of them but respects their limits.

Shane continues to be quite weary of people and is also terrified of leashes/rope, as well as confined spaces. He will accept pets on his head and neck when he's in a safe space (on the dog bed in our living room) and he will come sniff and even lick our hands if we're sitting still. Today alone he made huge strides in that he came on the couch with me and my dogs, and even played a bit with me and a toy. He's also moving more freely around the house and following me around, although keeping a safe distance. He is food motivated, although depending on the amount of fear, it's not always enough. He also knows his name, and knows the words outside and food 🙂

Shane would likely do best in a house without kids. He would be great with other dogs, and good with cats. We think he'll be a great outdoor companion once he can work past his fear of the leash. A fenced backyard would also be idea so he can have some space and freedom"

. His adoption fee is 500$
